How should I care for my swimsuit?
Pool chemicals and oil residues can be particularly damaging to swimwear containing Lycra® spandex. To prevent chemical damage to your swimwear, rinse your suit in cold water immediately after each use. Do not wash with detergent. Always hang dry in a well-ventilated space, as mildew will cause premature deterioration of swimwear containing Lycra® spandex.

How should a swimsuit fit?
We recommend you resist buying a suit that is a size too big, hoping that a swimmer will “grow into it.” Swimmers of all ages get more wear out of a suit that’s tight and form-fitting. A snug suit retains its shape and chlorine-resistance better than one that twists around the body in the water. A suit should be taut and smooth across the torso, and it should pass the strap test: slip a thumb under the top of one strap and lift. The strap shouldn't reach your earlobe.

Over the course of a season, a swimsuit can stretch as much as a full size. In most cases it’s better to go smaller than larger. Please note that the size guides and suggestions of Action Accents employees are only estimates and guidelines to help you in the fitting of your swimsuit.

Remember that loose fitting garments do not wear as well as those that conform to the body and that pulling too hard on swimsuit fabric may cause damage. It is best to pull the suit up onto the body in stages, holding the suit at the leg openings.

Even with proper care your swimsuit will experience a limited lifespan.

What about sizing for my championship suit? Do I really downsize?
The improvements in suit technology over the years have made sizing a bit of a challenge. It is based on several factors:

  • How tight are you wearing your basic Lycra® team suit?
  • How tight are you willing to wear your championship suit?
  • Which silhouette are you choosing? What race do you need this for?

Please view our size guides for measurements and guidelines for a proper fit. Because suit size is critical for maximum performance, Speedo® continues to offer mid sizes in addition to regular and long sizes.

You may decide to downsize for a snug fit. We recommend first trying it on for an exact fit. Since the suit is designed to provide firmness through the mid-section, you will feel some tightness as you bend over. Remember, the Speedo Fastskin® is a compression suit. It is supposed to feel very tight.

We will accept any championship suits back for exchange only. (We will not offer cash refunds.)

Can I check the status of my order/backorder online?
Unfortunately, at this time we are unable to provide this information online. Please contact our team sales customer service experts at 1-800-338-0231 to check the status of your order.

Why can't I find items that I have seen at a swim meet or in a catalog?
Some of our apparel pieces are only available through our on-site sales. Please call our toll-free number, 1-800-338-0231, to place your order or to check our calendar for upcoming swim meets.

How do I return merchandise?
If you are not satisfied, you may return any product in its original condition (without logo or customization) within 30 days of purchase for a full refund or exchange (less shipping charges). There will be a 20% re-stocking fee for special order items. Just send us the product back via UPS or US Mail (insured). Please include the following:

  • The product(s) you wish to return or exchange
  • A copy of the invoice
  • A copy of your packing slip
  • An explanation or reason for the return
  • Any instructions for exchanges
  • All pertinent contact information so we can contact you with any questions

All returns must be shipped prepaid and are the responsibility of the customer. Protect yourself from loss by insuring packages sent by mail or UPS. Please ship your package to:

Action Accents will not be able to issue a refund, credit or exchange if returned items are damaged, worn, laundered or used. Products must be in original condition with tags still attached and packaging that has NOT been altered in any way, including names on boxes, etc. Please use alternative means for identifying suits, such as sticky notes.
